"The pilot of a crop spraying aeroplane and his passenger died yesterday morning when the plane crashed into a marsh between Chrissiesmeer and Lothair.
According to police, Manie Kriel and Victor Tajkej were killed on impact when the plane suddenly lost power and dived nose first into a shallow marsh on the farm DrieFontein"[COLOR=blue]

I have heard that this was a single seat Pawnee - any-one able to advise.

Nontheless, another tragedy in a very bad period for SA aviation.

I wonder where the hell the passenger was sitting if it were a Pawnee. In the hopper perhaps. It has been known.

The aircraft was made by Gippsland. Looks like a Pawnee but has a second seat.
Rumour has it they were skiing on the water when it happened:mad:

If it was made by Gippsland, it would be a GA200 "Fatman". If I remember correctly, you can squeeze 2 in.

Cheers
