20/20 vision line

Hi everyone!

I have a question about vision tests at medical Class 1.

The limit is 20/20 right?

Anyway, what if you almost can read the correct line. But not 100% fully? If you are close and only very very little nearisghted so that you somedays can read the correct line and somedays not 100%. Can you be granted a Class 1 Medical anyway then without glasses?

Don't know about Sweden, but here in the UK you would not have a problem.

Class one standard is 6/9 with each eye, attaining 6/6 binocularly, (with accepted refraction in place, or unaided).

If you couldn't quite make the last line, you would be deemed to be 6/6 minus.

Yes we do have 1.0 (binocular) and 0.7 with each eye. We have different ways to tell the vision on. 0 to 1.

First I tought it was 1.0 with each eye. But now when I checked it, it is 1.0 binocular our regulations.

You are saying 6/6 and I read somewhere about 20/20 what's the difference there? Is it the same?

I'm sure someone will correct me, but doesn't the 6 refer to the 6 metre line on the chart? I.e. the line you should be able to read comfortably from 6m. I would guess that the 20 would be something like 20 feet for places that don't have the metric system.

6/6 is just the metric equivalent of 20/20.
