Seeking Redress

All,
I am in the process of putting together one, or possibly 2, claims of redress against 'the establishment' .
I have considerable evidence to support me.
I have seen the stn P1 staffs and they agree I have a case.
I have read the official blurb - Leaflet 1806 AP 3392 Vol4 and QRs - all very helpful.
However, I would be very keen and grateful to hear from anyone who has had experience dealing with redress at Level 2 or 3 (AOC/CinC and Air Force Board Level).
I know I am also entitled to legal advice - does anyone have a good contact number for a solicitor with experience in these matters.

Good luck mate, but from what I have observed recently you need to wear tits or a turban to succeed in any legal action against the MoD.

I hope you have more luck than when I tried. Even though I had the backing of 2 major Commands, the Air Sec and PMA still managed to give me a jolly good rogering:ugh: :yuk: :(

But I was persuaded not to go to the Air Force board, seeing as they just ask for specialist advice from PMA (the same agency who were responsible for my stitch-up in the first place.

You stand by your principles, someone's got to.

I did, got my solicitor to advise a Wg Cdr that if he f^cjked with my pay as directed by the Air Force Law book that we (Me + Solicitor) would sue him personaly. I won the litigation so stand on moral high ground yet remain in the same rank 16 years later!

Air Force Law is still in the dark ages, and although a good solicitor will turn it into the joke book that it is, the system gets you in the end. Would love to see you suceed though, whatever the story.

We're all 'entitled' to legal advice. Like the Ritz Hotel, the law is open to everyone.

If you really think you need a lawyer (and if your complaint is simply a dispute about facts, rather than some complex legal issue, you probably don't) then see a lawyer who specialises in the area of law appropriate to your complaint.

I should forget about taking on 'the establishment'. If a specific person or persons have wronged you, then concentrate on what you would like to be done about it. If you're just angry and want to make a stink, have a rant on PPRune instead.

What are you trying to achieve by this?......................................

I fully support your moral standing on both occasions, however you ignored the protocol of what you/we (the military) are required/expected to uphold, whether you or I like it or not. Your apparent self-destructive approach will serve no-ones purpose and to vent it like this (in a public forum) is in my view despicable. If you have an axe to grind then request an interview with those concerned; the frontline cannot afford to waste money on legal cases when that money could be better spent on FDA/DAS etc. etc. etc, the whole reason for your initial outburst.

I can only assume that you don't give a damn any more since it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out who you are?

Thank you to everyone who has replied 'off-line' as requested. I have had some great snippets of information and advice to gird my loins - this forum has been an excellent medium for seeking such advice. I am sorry I can't share it all with you.

Thanks too to those who openly voiced their support - even though you have mostly guessed wrong about the subject matter of my redress!
My wife is worried about everyone admiring my 'cohones' - she says they are indeed big but is very concerned that I have been dispalying them in public!

Facilitator, though, while making reasonable points in his post, couldn't resist a dig - shame on him! In fact, he missed the point almost completely as I was asking for help in private and not in public!

But to rebut his sweeping remarks - I care very much about the Service and those in it - to suggest otherwise is to not to know me at all!

In fact, this is one of the main reasons I am even considering the redress option, which I accept I may possibly (nay, probably) lose. However, I am honour bound to ask for someone to take responsibility for their past actions - some chance! Even if this doesn't happen, it may in the future, make just one 'top neddie' think twice before sacrificing good people on the altar of his own 'promotion and looking good'. Then, it will have been worth the effort.

1. Think what is best for your family in the short and long term.
2. Do you wish to remain in the Services.
3. Will any good come from your actions.
4. Will you be able to work with (and for) the plethora of incompetents that demean our RAF in the future

Best of luck with whatever you decide, but as EESDL said, the things in item 1 are what really matter. The RAF will still no doubt continue to slide down the pan whatever the outcome of your action. Think what's best for you, the wife and the kids - sod anyone else they ain't worth it.

When redressing expect PMA to respond in slow time. It is common for months to go between replies. If they have questions for you they will expect replies within 14 days. Last known full redress from initial letter to reply to petition to Queen 8 yrs 9 months. By then you will have forgotten what the problem was.
