Anyone know if its possible to do a 727 type rating in Africa (Sth Africa?)? If not what would be next closest?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Nope,

No Simulators avialable around here for B727's. Best for you is to get hooked up with a local airline, like Nationwide or Safair etc.

Maybe they will employ you (with a training bond) to fly the B727.
