strange reply from Emirates

Hello everyone,Ive just got a reply back from Emirates saying that i have not enough experience. I have 5100 hours 4000 on 737s,can some one tell what the requirement is right now ,as i have friends who got in with roughly the same experience.I would appreciate it if their is an e-mail address that i could query this at Emirates .

ok thats a fair enough answer but i know people who got in recently with just 737 experience ,maybe its just luck of the draw

they hired people with less experience than that, but now with that many experienced people available they are looking for widebody.
but try again you never know.

If thats the case why did alot of Air Jamaica A320 F/Os and Captains just get in?

Sadly a fair amount of pants is being spoken about what they are looking for!

Wide vs Narrow is not part of the screening. A 320 rating is actually a big advantage due to the reduced training burden on switching to a 330 compared to say a 747 classic.

A 737 doesn't help but doesn't hurt either! Lack of command time or a weird training/employment history would be more of a hinderance (outer tharg airways).

Generally, the reason a strange reply is generated by the system, for a seemingly competitive candidate, is that the application form has been filled in incorrectly. If this occurs, the application will be incorrectly scored and the wrong reply will be sent out.

I would recommend that you carefully check the application to ensure that all the information is presented correctly in the right boxes and resubmit it under you original reference number. The application will then be reassessed.

Ghost Rider thanks for your informative response.I have all my experience from a mainline carrier in the uk .I have looked at my application and it seems to be in order.I would appreciate if you could give me an e-mail address to send a query .

Just for your information. I just got hired with Emirates for the Nov course. I have over 9000 hours total time with only 2400 hours of jet time all on the Boeing 737/200 and 700.
Its the luck of the draw I guess.

What are the changes to get hired by Emirates for a 34 years old Dutch pilot, with about 2600hrs from which 1500 (FO) on a CRJ100 and 700? Currently employed by LH?

:cool: Hi peeps. Just to let you know that the current recruitment plan at Emirates seems to be full for this year with recruitment coninuing in early 2004. The requirements are approx 250 pilots per year for the next "several years". Good place generally to live with the best equipment to fly. To get hired at the moment you are probably a Capt Jet with at least 5000 hrs, or a wide-body F/O with 10,000hrs and still only late 30's. Thats the state of it, I hope I don't blow your hopes. For those applying from the US there seems to be more and more CV's all the time arriving on the recruiters desk.
