Damien,

As always, some very nice photographs

The 757 was mighty impressive! A very nice climb out after the high speed run!

Can someone please tell me how to post images on here... I've uploaded them onto a web site, but when I ask it to post the image, it just comes up with a link... What am I doing wrong please?

Cheers

GD

Jesus DB, you outdo yourself every blinking week - brilliant!

757? Aussie?

Mirage - a IV?

The DC I asume is the DC-2!

And how nice to see a certain well-beloved PPRuNers aeroplane!

You are seriously up there with the best of them and I hope once you are recognised amonst the elite aviation photographers that you will continue to share your work with us here! (Have I earned a pint yet?) :ok:

Re Spit, haven't had a response yet, will do some nagging.

Cheers mate,

DamienB - congratulations on a superlative set of photos. Stunning clarity and composition.

Hopefully next time you'll be able to photograph the Luftwafe's new A310MRTT - and not long after that a real AirTanker A330 tanker and the A400M!

treadigraph - the 757 is one of the RNZAF aircraft and yes, that's a Mirage IV.

Well done again Damien. You just get better. A brilliant set of pics indeed.

I agree with BEags. The composition is terrific.

Looking forward to the next bunch.

Cheers for the info BEags, and I must apologise to DamienB for setting the rating at One - Don't know what happened there, it should most definitely be Five!

What bloody great pictures! I couldn't resist - I sent the picture of the Ju52 off to Bobby Gibbes, who used to own and operate three Ju52's when he owned Gibbes Sepik Airways, in Papua New Guinea, in the 1950's.

Treadigraph, BEagle said "...the 757 is one of the RNZAF aircraft..." I don't think he's totally correct. I think that IS the RNZAF - the only fixed wing aircraft they now have.

Hi Damien,

Were you listening to ATC on Monday?

ATC - Golf India Romeo, line up after the Rapide

Me - Er - Golf India Romeo, there's a Canberra in front of me

ATC - It's not my day is it....... !!!

The Robin must have looked pretty daft in the queue. However, 35 minutes from Fairford to OW - on Fri,Sun and Mon wan't bad. I can imagine that the traffic on the roads was horrendous.

We departed the Maggie and Falcon from the mid point - no point in taxiing all the way back to the threshold of 27!

Great show - don't think I'll do it again......

No need when I can look at your fantastic pictures.

Come to OW and claim that ride in the Maggie.

Judging by some of the movements/attempts to move on Monday ATC must have been a scream on Monday but sadly I wasn't earwigging at all. Not much need with something happening all the time.

Traffic did not look bad (I was camping next to the perimeter but saw no mega queues - indeed some roads were eerily quiet); I hear visitor numbers were around 50% of last year :uhoh:

OW - going to try and get down for 3rd August.

Treaders - you had that pint lined up, but with that one star slip, you've lost it ;)

Thanks all for the kind comments.

Great Damien - looking forward to Part II!

That Mirage IV: can the Nav/Nuclear Weapon Pickle Facility see ANYTHING out of that window??

And did it display?

Methinks MOTF being too modest... the Lynx and Frecce shots in particular are superb.

MOTF:

Your pic of the Frecce made me laugh out loud. It's a superb photo and seems to be the essence of an Italian formation :E

Well done too to DamienB, great pics.

A huge thank you from the civilian world. I love the sound of these planes as they fly by, pure horsepower. Still can't get over the loops the helo is doing.

Thanks guys for sharing awesome photos.

SDorry back with two questions. #1 where was this air show? #2 what is that little French plane doing in front of what looks like a C-130 or some other monster? Isn't he afraid of getting sucked into the turbine. Oh and one more (sorry four questions) How far apart are the two helos in what looks like an imitation of the glide path of a brick.

Thanks, back to the photos. Is it okay if I save to my HD for my own collection, I really love this stuff?

Great RIAT photos there guys. The Frecce gaggle, the Breitling colours, and anything with afterburner and ecto - it's all there. Any chance of getting some HI-Res versions e-mailed out?

Could you please share some details of your equipment?

I'm thinking of upgrading my film camera to a new Digital SLR, and would like to know what gear you recommend.

Of course I understand that 'it's not the size, but what you do with it that counts', but I've got to start somewhere.

Cheers...

T_Richard In answer to one of your questions it's The Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford.

And if #2 refers to the little white/red low wing jet in front of the great big grey thing, it's British not French - a Jet Provost - awaiting his turn to depart with the C-17 in the background further back in the queue.

Mighty Gem,

I’m afraid I’ve given up trying! I have tried just about every combination I can think of, but every time I try to post pictures, all I get is a link appear in my post… I cant get the actual photograph to appear on the forum! Thanks for your help anyway!

I am not familiar with the Frecce, having only seen them once and that a good 14 years ago. But, when I saw that pic, I thought, "That HAS to be the Italians"

If your talking about the last of my pictures its a Polish Navy M-28 Bryza (An-28 derivative) painted in special colours (RAF Wellingtron flown by a Polish crew) to commemorate the Battle of the Atlantic.

They had some great Booze on board as well :ok:

Brilliant pictures all!

Now, I know the diffrence between a Kodak and a Brownie, but if it doesn't give too much away I would love to know what sort of kit you were using and to have any tips on how a mere mortal might one day get at least one of those shots...:O
