After Dr Beeching had wielded his axe in 1966, Britains railways were decimated and have never been restored to the reliability levels prior to the dramatic cost-cutting.

We now have Rod Eddington who has allowed himself to listen to the jokers who dreamed up "Future Size and Shape". So, you take three good Business routes, with good corporate presence near these cities, LGW to Hannover, Bremen and Dusseldorf and get the "bean counters" to play down the revenue and exaggerate the costs of these routes! Naturally, they're not as popular because of the fact that a Turbo-Prop (ATR-72) is used, but the ticket prices more than compensate for their lack of popularity!

Indeed, one of these ATR's half full, probably makes us more money than a full 737 to Paris!

However, we're to lose these routes from the Winter timetable so no more Mercedes Benz customers going to Bremen to collect their pride and joy from the factory gate, no more Kraft Foods people etc etc etc. You will be missed!

Thank you for your support over the years, some of us recognise your contribution as well as those who formerly worked for City Flyer!
