Welcome home Guns.

Sent François an email after I read your thread, and he responded that we can do this pprune bash at the WIN helipad in the Waterfront any late afternoon/early evening next week. Wednesday 23rd July is good.

There are a lot of helicopter pilots in CPT that read the pprune, and they should all be invited.

You Guns, must however invite Rotorhead (Pete Hanes) Marc Perkins & Andy Cluver.

Come on ppruners, lets get together and get to know each other.

Hey Gunship,

I am leaving Sydney next week and Saturday on my way to West Africa (Bata, EG). This time I am routing via Johannesburg to Madrid then down to Malabo. How long r u staying in SA? If there is any Chopper Drivers in J'burg next Saturday afternoon, I would love to have a few free beers in the Airline Lounge.

Look forward hearing from all the Chopper Boys out there! It is about time we get to sing the chopper song again.

Till later.

Cheers,

Chopper Jog

The Yanks have landed. Got In on Virgin this morning. You have my Cell. I brought over all My Army Crap including skid lid to unload on Francois for a marginal profit. Ha ha. I told him I wanted to come down and wring out the OD RV a little so I will contact him in a day or so and arrange it. Probably Kulula.com.
PPrune Bash in the Cape sounds like fun. Lets see if we get some of these folks who only have North on their Compass and get them down that way. I will contact Gerry, Fred and a couple others....... The time to Party is NOW.

:ok: The party is on! François confirmed that all is invited to attend a get together (BRING & BRAAI) at the WIN Helipad in the V&A Waterfront on Wednesday, 23 July, from about 17.00 onwards.

WIN will provide the Weber & the gas, and some welcome refreshments. (Bubbly, beer, gin & of course Red wine for some.)

François will also provide some boerewors & chops, but due to the fact that the guest list is unknown, will not cater for a 100 people. :D

So come on people, lets get together there as pilots, get to know each other and have a great time. Those flying in from JHB or elsewhere, and arriving late will not be required to bring anything. I'm sure there will be enough for all.:ok:

See ya!

Thanks to you for just leaving me on the sidewalk and pawning my tackies I got arrested for dronk op straat and being in public without shoes.

Please send someone to bail me out of the tronk.

:ok: Guns & I have just been to Cape Town International airport, and GOFFEL has been positively identified(from the photo) as Melvin Fortein.

Melvin is an aircraft refueller at the airport, and regularly refuels helicopters, private jets & airplanes. From there his intimate knowledge of what goes on where. Goffel, jou bliksem! You fooled us all.

Put it to bed guys, GOFFEL is not a pilot, and he knows nothing about flying, other than taking off the fuel cap, refuelling and refitting the cap ;)

I'm in! How about Eastwood Tavern in Pretoria? There's always Dad's Place in Menlo Park but as it's a jazz club I reckon we'd have to scare off the trendoids before we can get adequately ratted.

Any more ideas?

How about Field and Stream in Sandton next weekend? I believe there's some kind of craft show and a beer tent......

 Deanw.

So sorry Bru.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that Gunzz was such a cheap-skate wearing a fake gold Rolux watch.
I mean, there is honour amongst thieves.
It was dark when I borrowed his watch.

I even checked out the hub-caps now and wallah. Plastic.

Can you imagine my dismay.AND he calls himself a chopper jock.

The $$$ bills in the wallet were even hand made.(That's when I realised that he was a chopper jock).

But it's ok.
A mate of mine, also a bergie, works at the photo shop and he hijacked a couple of the photo's from the other night.

This is big bucks day or their wives are going to kill them.
I mean,to have those photo's distibuted in their places of abode.
Skaadelik.Embarrassment of note.
Even my bergie friend/partner was embarrassed.

The best was of Francois Marais giving the brown eye out the Huey.He forgot the toilet paper was still stuck there.

Well it's time for my scooter lessons.(Wanna buy one).

PS:A Rolex is being sourced.I believe Bert wears the real-deal.So.
