Just found out that after 9/11 the airline i work for has changed their insurance policy to include a $5000 excess. This now means that our tool boxes are effectively uninsured. Anyone know where i can pick up some tool insurance??:}

Try insuring it under your home & contents insurance as a single high value item. Make sure you tell them that it is not kept at the home address. It can work out quite cheap, I think mine was £30 and then normal policy excess if you claimed. If they won't do it they way they might be able to arrange an all risks policy for it.:ok:

When it came time to renew my house contents they did it for nothing to get the sale as long as they were stored at line office.

Leave them at home, and when they ask why you don't have YOUR tools it's because they won't supply any or insure them. Surely if they require you to have tools to do the job they should cover any loses. :mad:

did you specify the contents or was it just a nominal value

my last company insisted the toolbox to be locked and chained at all times to be insured
still haven/t worked out how i was meant to get it to the a/c
