The new government in Argentina has finally enacted the decree uniting the remains of the defunct LAPA and Dinar to form a new state-owned airline to be called L'neas Aéreas Federales. The ministries of Economy and Planning will each take a forty percent stake each with the remaining twenty percent going to Intercargo, the state-owned ramp services company. The 750 ex-LAPA and 200 ex-Dinar workers will keep their jobs.
Moves to privatise the new company are supposed to start within 180 days but I wouldn´t bet the farm on that actually happening.
By a complete and total coincidence two of the directors of the new company happen to be relatives of Roberto Lavagna (Minister of the Economy) and Daniel Scioli (Vice - President of the Nation)
