View Full Version : Removing XP Pro
Anyone any bright ideas about how to remove XP Pro from a laptop? I tried all sorts even putting Partition Magic on and then making a partition so that I could retain Part.Magic then formatting the drive that XP was on. That took out XP but also lumps out of the BIOS! Help!!:(

Could be way off the mark here but what about using a win 98 / me emergency startup disk and running fdisk which will let you delete and reformat the partitions on your hard drive.
Thanks 999, I eventually removed it by using the XP disk and Recovery Console. The only problem now is that I do not have a floppy drive and the CD drive will only boot with XP not 98se or even 95. I love Compaq!!
