A bomb hoax on Sunday grounded an Egyptian airliner arriving in Geneva from Cairo for several hours, police said.
They said a flight attendant found the words "Bomb on board " scribbled on a paper towel in the rear toilets as the EgyptAir Boeing 737 was beginning its descent to Geneva just before 14:00.
The plane landed and the 83 passengers got off normally.
But both their hand luggage and the aircraft itself had to be thoroughly searched by bomb-defusal experts before the threat was determined to be a hoax.
Four hours later, the plane took off for Zurich, from where it was due to fly back to Cairo.
