C-130 over Sheffield

Hi,

Today at around 2-3pm a Hercules flew past my house at around 3000ft approx. It was quite an unusually site as we don't get many military (assuming it was military) aircraft around my area and especially so low! I live next to Derbyshire border in Sheffield. Could anyone give me details as to what it was doing today?
