Just curious if anyone out there currently is working in South Africa?

I see this is your first post.
The obvious answer to your question is, yes there are a lot of people working in South Africa. What do you want to know exactly ? We have a very popular "African aviation forum" if you have a specific question you might want to consider asking it on there. There are hundreds of PPRuNe members who frequent that forum and may be able to answer any point you put to them.
