Due to current financial situation caused by the slowdown of economy, I have decided to implement a scheme to increase my profits and the profits of my Royal Family.

This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire ALPA-S People Early).

Persons selected by lack of merit to be RAPED can apply to the government to be eligible for the SHAFT scheme (Special Help After Forced Termination).

Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW scheme (Scheme Covering Retired Early Workers).

A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as the government deems appropriate. Persons who have been RAPED can also get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependants of Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance).

Obviously, persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by the government.

Persons staying on will receive as much **** (Special High Intensity Training) as possible.

The government of Singapore has always prided itself on the amount of **** it gives the employees of SIA.

Should you feel that you do not receive enough ****, please bring it to the attention of your management. They have been trained to give you all the **** you can handle.

Sincerely,

Lee Kuan Yew

Dear Gladiator,

Long time ago when some one put it on the "HUMOUR" page of PPRUNE as a BA retirement policy, no one ever imagine that one day this will become true for Singapore Airlines. Thanks for your effort to apply it successfully to SIA.

Well whatever Gladiator has prodeuced here is on a small part of **** what pilots here in SIA have to face in the hands of ruthless government's policies implemented through its arm-chair generals.

One can imagine the moral of its pilots, how low it could be. Here pilots are working with the threat of reduced earnings due No Pay Leave, threat of 22.5% pay cut and imminenet threat of losing your job because of SARS (Singapore Airline's Retrenchment Scheme) . Imagine the amount of beating flight safety must be taking in this airline when people are made to fly under the above mentioned circumstances. On top of this one of the general here in every dialog session with the pilots while explaining the above threats always ask the same pilots to fly his airplanes safely in the best possible professional manner.

SIA is lucky, pilots are flying safely not because of the safe culture of the airlines, rather they are flying safe because they will be fired from the job even with a smallest possible mistake. May be this the best way management of SIA has thought of to achieve FLIGHT SAFETY in this airline .The generals are trying to re-write the whole chapter on Human Errors in aviation

cheers!!!!!!!!!!!

Flew for SQ many years ago on the B707, and found it then to be quite a pleasent company to work for...no complaints.

Ran into one of my former First Officers a couple of years ago (now a senior Captain), and he mentioned now that he cannot wait to retire....the whole company (and especially managements attitude and policies) have gone rapidly downhill within the last five years or so.

If they are not careful, Cathay (and some mainland Chinese airlines as well) might just roll over 'em like a giant cement truck.

This industry is just up and down, isn’t it? You look at major airlines up high on the list of places to work and then it falls in the blink of an eye.

It is sad to see that is the way things go.

I for one would have loved to work for Singapore up until a few years ago but then you get the Emirates and others coming into play on the field and your mind goes back and forth as to who is the best one.

All you need to do is hope you keep your health these days and can retire from Aviation with money in the bank to enjoy yourself and live happy after 60.

What a changing industry this is.
:ugh:

Dun worry eveyone... SQ will survive as an empty shell
eventually.

IT will linger and wait , to sucker another Expat / local to
work for it again.

Eveyone in SQ should consider leaving, if possible.
Co has demostrated yet again , that they can sack everyone
and still make 1 billon.
So SQ dosen't need any employees..
Just more " dumb" managers..

Wonder how many managers it take to refuel a 744

Best of luck to all employees ( union )
