Hi! Does anyone know where I could download/buy a very accurate Airbus A320 panel for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000.

Also, is the Airbus A320 panel in Airport 2000 Volume 2 good? Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately there are few good A320 panels available. Most designers have tried to be clever and used 'photo-realistic' bit-maps with gauges superimposed. The effect is universally poor, with the instruments being hard to read and very little appearing to function as it should. The Jump-seat effect cockpits are the worst - I don't know why they bother!

Probably the worst panel of the lot is the one in Airport 2000 Vol 2. This is a re-hashed FS98 panel - and a poor attempt at that!

What is availabe can either be found at www.avsim.com (http://www.avsim.com) or www.flightsim.com (http://www.flightsim.com)

There is one exception which is the panel found in the FS2000 Legendary Aircraft selection. Another FS98 re-hash but at least the instruments are clear. And this one has a moving map display thrown in for good measure!

The people to watch (and lobby) are Phoenix Simulations who have just released an incredible rendition of the 777 with what is without doubt the best panel I have EVER seen in a PC-based simulation. They have a forum within the Avsim forum section where their MD often contributes. Apparently they are planning a whole series of commercial airliners for FS2000.

Hope this helps!

Hi TomCat

Go to http://www.flightsimmers.net/fpda/flightdeck.htm

and look for a A320 Panel from Andreas Jaros. It's around 3.6 MB but one of the most accurate. And it's free.
