Can anyone help, please? Just out of interest, has anyone any idea what a Chinook (Sadly, a rarity hereabouts) was doing flittering around the south-east corner of Sheffield just after 5 p.m. today, (Wednesday) for about 15 minutes, before departing (as near as I could tell) to the south, apparently tracking the M1?
Thanks. N.Z.

Could have been to pick someone up (army personnel driving South from Catterick?) and then take them on to the crash site in Leicestershire.

The crash was a car crash on the M1 motorway involving army Spartan (I think) APCs. They were being transported back to their home at Catterick. The transporter swerved to avoid another vehicle and jumped the reservation into on-coming traffic. Five people were killed and the road closed for about 24 hours.
