Kulula Fleet

Hi,

I was wondering if Kulula still has any Boeing 727's left? Are they planning to get more 737-400's. Has anyone flown on them? Are they good?

Kulula's B727s actually belong to Safair but I dont know how many B727s they were using. They have 3 B737-400s and I think they were supposed to get around 8 B737-400 from BA UK. (I type under correction here) Think the "new" 73s were all financed through Safair.

Flew with the B734 last year from CPT-JNB-CPT and it was fine. No complaints.

If not already the 727 will be completely phased out and replaced with the 737-400. They are much cheaper to run so it seemed to be a good investment for Comair.

So that just leaves Nationwide as the only airline flying pax in sa with the 727.

I heard the same from a friend of mine. Maybe Real Orca can shed some light on the aqusition plans. Are the -300's going to replace the old -200 Basics?

SAFAIR holdings is currently busy buying 3 x "new" 737 - 800's.

These might be destined for KULULA soon.

Unless they buy the 800 from SAA & back lease them to SAA until their A320's arrive?

No, not 738 but 733,s. Slightly bigger than the 200's with the same glass cockpit and engines as the 400's.
