Hi- can any one suggest (in the UK) which internet service is good to use any where in the world??

I have looked at AOL and compuserve- but they seem quite expensive?

Thanks

And why wouldn't it be expensive?! You're asking for quite a sophisticated facility.

This has been done here regularly; try a search. My own solution is to keep Compuserve going at about £7 a month. I pay for my phone calls abroad too. My US friend uses his AOL account for which he pays at home but the benefit is that he can make toll-free calls whilst in Europe.

How far are you going? Compuserve wouldn't work in NZ because the local licencing was different to up here so I needed a different script file. Do a lot of homework before you go; I didn't but will next time.

This (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?threadid=76166) is all I could find in the last six months; looks like you'll have to go back further.

fobotcso,

Thanks for the link- i tried doing a search but didn't come up with much! AOL said internet access from a UK account in Spain would cost around £7 per hour + cost of the call- not expensive but a rip off! Since i'm spending most my weekends there i've realised it's cheaper to get a server in spain!

Thanks ;)

Have a look at: http://www.gricdial.co.uk/
They have a special rate for BALPA members.
The presentation on your PC can be a little abstruse and it doesn't work everywhere, e.g. Dhaka (also call rates there are very expensive)
