This was an unexpectedly good show, with the mad Swede in his Tummelisa, Breitling Fighters and Ray Hanna solo Spit being the star acts. Some fantastic low passes from several acts too, and the Breitlings disappearing behind the trees at one point as well on Sunday - a welcome return to the 'good old days' of sheer entertainment.

Hi Damien,

You are a gifted photographer - some of your posted images are simply awesome.

I hope that some of the editors will take note of your talents and afford you the recognition you deserve.

Plenty of opportunities for you to do some air to airs at Old Warden from my machines - come and find me at one of the shows there and we'll talk.

Your images are giving a lot of pleasure to a lot of people on Prune - keep them coming!

I was booked to bring my machines to Biggin on both days - a very nice invitation arrived some weeks back.

Regrettably, the Wx on both days didn't clear until late morning and my arrival slots were just after 10.00.

The Moth Club Charity Weekend flying didn't get under way at OW until late morning - it was really on the deck and raining.

We all got caught out by a vicious squall on Sunday afternoon - a few diversions (including myself) and an unfortunate landing accident - a no-injury nose-over involving one of the Tigers - resulted.

Well done again for some fabulous pictures. You must be really proud of them.

Excellent photos. There's really something about the sun glinting off a Spitfire...

When did the Virgin Atlantic plane show? Was that only on the Sunday, or really early?

The Airbus was Sunday only and pretty stunning... check this out for instance:

Undoubtedly the most outstanding aviation photos I have come across ! Wow - incredible.

And I used to think Ian Holland-Avery (think that was his name)was good !!

I've seen pictures taken from the ground of aircraft at air displays for 25 years but have never seen pictures that quite capture the feeling of flight like Damian's. Quite remarkable, considering the shots aren't posed air-airs. What could he do with a proper shoot?

You got a great one of our team at Southend(Aerostars): do you have any more?:O

Thanks Vixenbreak - and as for Aerostars piccies, ask your no. 4!

Excellent photos. I could do that too. All you have to do is tell me what camera, lens, film combination you use:ok:

As if.

But seriously. What do you use and any tips for us, exposure and speeds etc.

My apologies if this has been asked too often but could you tell us what equipment you use for your shooting.
I really am impressed with your images.
I spend a fair bit of time on Phil Askey's WWW.DPReview.net website where there are a lot of pretty active forums, would you object if I referred some of the people there to this thread reference your pics?

After viewing these fantastic quality pictures, take a look at the home page the Adrian Soaring Club, a small Glider Club in Adrian Michigan which is about an hour South West of Detroit.

In the 'Visiting Aircraft' Picture section click on the 'NASCAR Race Day' paying attention to Damiens Fourth picture!!

Small world Eh!?

All might enjoy the Yankee Airforce Museums growing library of Warbird pictures too, also at LocalHangar.com

Cheers guys. solotk - I do have some shots up on my own web site in the Events section but getting time to update it is hard at the moment (much easier to just bung up pics on forums).

I've more or less given up on WIX - seems half the time I go to my bookmark and he's archived again and I have to adjust the bookmark and all the discussions in progress are slain. I don't like the way new posts move old ones further down the page regardless of how much discussion is going on too - it just kills popular topics.

Damien does contribute to Air-Scene UK (http://www.f4aviation.co.uk) - you can see more there! It would only be half as good without his help.
