Recruitment Update
Following a review of our Flight Crew requirements, Qantas has decided to suspend the assessment and recruitment of pilots. The suspension of pilot recruitment is in response to the current worldwide downturn in the aviation industry. On present indications, it is anticipated that we will not require any additional pilots before early to mid 2004.

For candidates who have already been processed by Pilot Recruitment, simulator, interview and medical assessments will continue as previously booked during June and July.

Current applicants are invited to keep their applications updated at least every six months by submitting an Application Update Form. Applicants should also send an update whenever their contact details change.

Qantas will continue to accept new applications.

At this stage, the 2004 Qantas Cadet Pilot Training Program will progress, with the website and applications expected to open in July 2003.

In April '94, QF got a whole bunch of us cadets together and told us to basically forget Qantas and if they call us in five years and we still want to fly with them then so much the better but to get on with our lives. After that meeting we were all pretty down.

They took the first guys in June and we were all in (about 80ish of us) by January the following year. They may be right this time. They may not either. A month is a long time in aviation!!

The question is Keg - how many people would continue/start with a career in aviation if QF said that now....? Would be interesting to see.

Qantas are probably waiting for the year 12's to finish school for next years PILOT intake!!!!:yuk:
