I was walking around Shoreham the other day when I I saw a Harrier tailplane in a church yard I think the church was St Marys.

There was no explination as to why this tail was there.

Can any of you shed some light on this ?.

There is or was an old Harrier, a GR1 I think parked outside the Transair shop at one end of the airfield (the NE corner I think), acting as a rather large lawn ornament.

On the grounds that there can't be that many spare Harriers lying around Shoreham presumably it's that one. What the relationship is to any particular churchyard I have no idea.

Think you'll find that the Transair Harrier (GR3 I believe) was sold to the USA but didn't yet make it due to importation restrictions. It got to Belgium though (possibly Antwerp container depot).

I think there's a Wessex decaying outisde Transair at Shoreham now... or at least there was a month or two ago.
