View Full Version : Paramedic Rucsac

What Limits

An EMS (HEMS) unit that I work for occasionally, has asked me to research Paramedic Rucsacs as they are finding that the ones they use do not last long.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Suggest you get yourself along to one of the larger photography shop chains and check out their gear. The thing is, these are designed to carry heavy loads, so stitching, straps and all else is pretty tough. Lots of pockets and compartments, waterproof, etc. Should do the trick.
Check out Billingham. They used to make the best camera bags in the land, and probably still do. Mine's 13-years-old, been round the world several times, jungles, arctic, and all the zips and buckles still work.

Just found this:

Might do the job. Even includes weight info.
Good luck

PM me if you want to discuss off board - for libel reasons!!! We ve had similar problems here!

Or try calling one of the long established ASU such as Sussex Police/Ambulance at Shoreham or Essex Ambulance.

Contact numbers should be fairly easily available if you are 'in the trade'.

Or browse these:

If you're describing your own experience using the kit, no need to worry too much about libel

We used Thomas Packs for our service here in North Queensland, Aust. Ours were all very sturdy etc. and lasted well.

Used same on a fixed wing retreival service I worked on as well, although they got a lot less harshly treated there.

Try your local Mil SAR flight - they will be very happy to show you their kit which has to survive being taken to some inhospitable places. If you tell me where you are I can tell you where your nearest one is.
