On the subject of the original post, the death figures from DVT aren't 1 in a billion, as ronchtwat suggested, but 300 Brits a year, according to the Metro this morning. (Metro is free London morning newspaper, for rest of UK who may not have heard of it)

Not meaning to start on the French vs England theme but wasn't the latest foot and mouth outbreak caused by foreign imported meat. I rather think it was.

Just to support Up Front's comment.

History shows this to be the case. The British used to send money to the Germans to help them fight the French, until France had a pact with everyone else and Germany stood alone.
The British didn't need a pact with Germany, they were on the same side!
Ronchonner has clearly not forgotten his roots.
