Heard some rubbish figures about 2001 and 2002.
Anybody willing to share good info?

Care to share those figures yourself?
Well, the Today Paper, a more tabloid paper than the Straits times had a small article, which satated that today SQ head honchos would announce last years figures and analysts where saying abut 1.00 billion to 1.14 billion profit. They will give with one hand and take a lot more with the other.

So i guess under the present climate the SQ pilots can expect a heafty bonus for 2002/3 . (say , 3.5 months x sars =o):ok:

Bonus 2001(for 2000) x12 months, 2002(for 2001) x7 months.
Looks way beyond normal to me...

Swish - you have been mislead.
2001 was between five and six months pay as bonus.
2002 was NIL.
2003 Wait and see.

SIA Net income to 31Mar2002 $1.06 Billion
Sats $215 Million
SIA Engineering $205 Million
Dividend for SIA Shareholders 15cents per share unchanged from previous year.
Operating loss for April $204 Million due SARS and war.
Debts of SIA roughly equal to cash in Bank.
No mention from the retiring CEO why he lost SIA $2 Billion due his investments in AirNZ/Ansett and Virgin Atlantic.

SQ has never shared profits...
It was forced to give due "agreements" which take years to
negotiate.
As for 2001/2002...... they are not going to declare any bonuses
If they do give any $$$... it will only mean severe wage cuts and
Retrenchments.. soon..
either way Bosses Keep the Lexus, workers get a kick in the ass
this is how the story always ends in SQ

422 Bonus is 3.23 months Basic salary, but job cuts and big paycuts on the way which will never be returned when times get better. This is the perfect excuse for SIA to stuff the Pilots once and for all and for it to abolish Alpha-S,put in cruise F/O's etc etc

so what even if SIA pays 3.23 months bonus....last year it made employees take the paycut and company made the profit.
This year the armchair generals are standing with a bigger blade to pick your pockets and finally make SIA declare profits at the end of the year
Cabin Crews (poor singapore girl) is already sc***ed.....
its the turn of the tech crew now.
In future any where in the world any thing happens SIA will try and make money out of it by announcing the pay cut for the employees.
I was reading some where that Over 800 feared killed in Algeria earthquake Do the pilots and cabin crew will have to be given some pay cut on account of that. After all SQ must be losing some paxs on account of this earth quake too. What a wonderful way to run an airline and than say that they are the best in the world. Agreed it can be the most ruthless in the world..........happy Landings my friend if at all you are doing any one these days.
