Can anyone suggest any Caribbean companies operating Twin Otters who take foreign pilots. Done Africa and am looking for a change. Also how hard is it for conversions from JAA/FAA licenses.
Many thanks

I do not think you will find any Twin Otters in the Caribbean operating on a schdule airline, the last was LIAT in 1997. Good luck in finding.

Is Jamaica Express recruiting on the Dash 8? Will they accept pilots from Barbados? Who should I be applying to?

thanks in advance for your help.

re: winair

There are a bunch of guys flying for them with less than 500 hrs, a couple less than 300. I was going to go down and fly right seat with about 300 hrs. Mostly guys from Canada that did the course at Flightsafety in Toronto. The mins that they have posted on the site are a joke. Chief pilot was Eddie Hodge or Capt. Oliver.

Shockwaves sorry for the late reply. I am still trying to get the information for you. I do not think they are taking non-jamaicans on the DHC-8. They have a few EC Express guys that came with the aircraft. (so it is not impossible) but i need to confirm what is going on now. I will keep you posted.

Check flight international website http://flightinternationaljobs.com/
17 x DHC8-100 & 300 First Officers
3 x DHC8 Captains

Positions IMMEDIATELY available due to change in local CAA validation process.

MUST HAVE either JAR or CAA ATPL and be under 40 years of age.

ALSO MUST:
a) have DHC8 type rating plus approximately 1000 hours on DHC8
b) Be 6 months current on type, or be prepared to renew rating at own cost.
c) Rating must extend to cover the entire period of each individuals contract

Sorry, but unqualified pilots, or those with ATPL other than JAR or CAA will NOT be considered.

Hope thats a help

Try WinAir in SXM, but short field experience is a must (<1100ft). Do a search on their web site.

Others are Carib Aviation in ANU( Contact Ops Manager Capt Francis Fuller) and SVG Air in SVD (Contact Ops Mananger Paul Gravel). Check web for web sites.

Link to Caribbean ALPA for info regarding Caribbean Star/Sun.Caribbean ALPA (http://www.caribbeanalpa.com/cgi-bin/anyboard.cgi/discussion/?cmd=get&cG=63630393&zu=36363039&v=2&gV=) .
