Anyone out there able to advise me on a good scanner for picking up the traffic.

I'd love to hear some recommendations with rough price guides if anyone has them??

I'm based in Dublin so would also like to know where I can pick one up.

I bought a Maycom AR-180 about 18 months ago and it has served me well.

Maycom AR-180 (http://www.transair.co.uk/jepdoubles/maycom.htm)

I just looked it up in Transair and it is about Euros 125.00 but I am sure if you shopped around the flight suppliers then you would find it cheaper.

There are quite a few similar to Transair, Pilotshop etc etc etc. A good place would be to Google the words "Pilot Supplies"

There's a shop called CQ Communications down on the quays in Dublin - near the Millenium bridge on the North side of the river - they've got a good variety of stock.

I bought a handheld analog scanner for about 35 in Galway last year - fine for picking up approach & departure traffic.

Thanks everyone - I've got enough to go on now.
