Well, for me the title of the thread may say it all - Southern Comfort helps.

On the other hand - a bag of fish shop chips (to share with Carol Vorderman).

has to be one of the world's best comfort foods. Lightly crisped unsmoked streaky bacon (not overdone) and English sunny-side-up fried egg in a toasted roll (gluten free in my case) or between two pieces of toasted bread!

YUMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

Food fit for the Gods!!!!!

:D

For comfort food at times of misery, stress, illness, whatever, my mother's proper old-fashioned fish pie is the one thing that always cheers me up. If she's not looking, I eat it with a spoon and lick the plate afterwards.

A couple of lightly boiled eggs...with soldiers for dipping the yolks. Mmmm.

Sadly I haven't got any egg cups. Where on the earth do you buy egg cups from?

When I was a nipper, me all time favorite was Ice Cream and mandarin oranges,I swore a great oath to meself that when I grew up I would have it three times a day every day.
Of course things like that never work out, but strangly, just typing this post has invoked the ice cream and mandarin orange lust in me.

You MUST leave the opened tin in the fridge for a while first so that a nice crunchy top forms on it.
Porridge, served with a liberal layer of aforementioned Nestles product.......
Must go and get my stick of seaside rock (Last Years) which also goes candyfied after a time.

When I need something to eat to cheer me up all I need is Mint ice cream with plain choc chips in it. The choc chips must be plain.

If on the "odd" occasion I somehow happen to by chance, find myself pissed out of my brains then a Kebab with everything on it will do.
