By definition "VLS" is the minimum selectable speed providing appropriate margin to the stall speed. The guidance computer prevents the aircraft from flying below this speed.

My question is, are you able to physically select a speed below VLS while in selected speed mode?

Keeping the reply as simple as possible: When autopilot is engaged it will not go below Vls. However in manual flight, you can reduce below Vls a little to the point where Alpha floor cuts in at which point you get TOGA power. If you hold full back stick at this point, speed will stabilise at Vprot which is approximately half way between Vls and Vstall.

Have a nice day

yes you can select a speed below vls and the auto pilot will happilly try and go get that speed but as the approaches vls the auto thrust (if engaged) will prevent the speed from going below vls.

Thank you both very much for a clear answer. It is much appreciated.
