Why does some airline companies hire guys/girls with low TT?
For example: Lufthansa hires 60 KLS students with 150TT. And they are very happy about them.
So why aren't they good enough for other airline companies?

Dunno much about Germany, but in the US, & especially in the biz jet industry, the "mandatory minima" (1000TT or 200ME or whatever) are mainly insurance-related. If the airline hires too many low time people, the average TT lowers & so the premiums increase. In real life I've seen people with 150TT performing better than people with 1000TT, but when the flight time summary gets to the insurance company, the guys there have their own scale, which is only related to numbers, not performance. The deal is something like "we'll lower your premium, but don't hire anybody with less than 1000 or 1500TT". The bigger the a/c, the higher the TT they want to see. Fair or not, it seems quite logic. For cars, it's the number of years of "no claim" & your age that matter, for a/cs, it's your TT.
