The Lancaster (wish I could say a Lancaster, but we're short of choice) passed over my house just NW of Oxford at 7.35 last night (2nd May), at about 1500 feet heading west, towards Brize Norton.

It looked and sounded wonderful.

Out of curiosity, where had it been and what was it doing away from home at that time of night?

I saw it too whilst heading along the A420.

It was doing a flypast at the JSCSC or RMCS or whatever it is this week.

I had to pull the car over to the side of the road a watch as it headed towards a squall.

Magnificent.

Motf,

You are correct - the Lancaster did a flypast for an event at JSCSC last night at about 1950. A Tornado had also been on the menu but didn't show.
