I reckon this is one of the most attractive planes in the air today

G-PSST (http://www.paulnann.com/images/pn_w3415.jpg)

Anyone else got any they particularly like?

I have seen this (http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=231709&WxsIERv=VmFuJ3MgUlYtOA%3D%3D&WdsYXMg=UHJpdmF0ZQ%3D%3D&QtODMg=UG9waGFtIChFR0hQKQ%3D%3D&ERDLTkt=VUsgLSBFbmdsYW5k&ktODMp=QXByaWwgMTQsIDIwMDI%3D&WNEb25u=Q29saW4gSy4gV29yaw%3D%3D&xsIERvdWdsY=Ry1CWldO&MgTUQtODMgKE=Qy9uIFBGQS8yMC0xMDk1NTsgQ2Fub24gRDYwIElTTyAxMDA sIDE3LTM1bW0%3D&YXMgTUQtODMgKERD=MjU4&NEb25uZWxs=MjAwMi0wNC0yNg%3D%3D&static=yes) at a couple of fly-ins. First at Popham, most recently at Turweston. The photo really doesn't do it justice, it's much much prettier. Presumably the owner flew it to the TVR factory for the paint job!

The Hunter is definitely the most beautiful aircraft ever built, though I am dubious about the colour scheme of this one!

2nd May 2003, 00:40
Dubious color scheme??? I saw this (http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=328462&WxsIERv=Qm9laW5nIDc3Ny0yMjQvRVI%3D&WdsYXMg=Q29udGluZW50YWwgQWlybGluZXM%3D&QtODMg=TG9uZG9uIC0gR2F0d2ljayAoTEdXIC8gRUdLSyk%3D&ERDLTkt=VUsgLSBFbmdsYW5k&ktODMp=TWFyY2ggMTQsIDIwMDM%3D&WNEb25u=R2FycnkgTGV3aXM%3D&xsIERvdWdsY=Tjc3MDE0&MgTUQtODMgKE=UGV0ZXIgTWF4LCBsb29raW5nIHN0dW5uaW5nIGluIHRoZSB HYXR3aWNrIHN1bi4gU3VwZXJiIGxvb2tpbmcgYWlybGluZXI%3D&YXMgTUQtODMgKERD=NjIy&NEb25uZWxs=MjAwMy0wMy0xNg%3D%3D&static=yes) the other day in CDG :ugh:

There is nothing new about vomit-inducing colour schemes.

Does anyone remember this? (http://www.borg.com/%7Epostcard/br146.jpg) :ooh:

2nd May 2003, 01:26
OK, Flyblue.

I hoped it wouldn't come to this, but TAKE THAT! (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/345003/M/) :uhoh:

2nd May 2003, 01:38
When that thing appeared there was a story that Douglas would not guarantee that the APU could keep the aircraft cool at some of the warmer locations. Hugh of the never ending "Playboy philosophy" had to agree to some sort of waiver.

2nd May 2003, 01:42
Ok, truce! And because you like old ladies, I give you this (http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=028628&WxsIERv=QWVyb3NwYXRpYWxlLUJBQyBDb25jb3JkZSAxMDE%3D&WdsYXMg=QWlyIEZyYW5jZQ%3D%3D&QtODMg=QmVybGluIC0gU2Nob25lZmVsZCAoU1hGIC8gRUREQik%3D&ERDLTkt=R2VybWFueQ%3D%3D&ktODMp=TWFyY2ggMjAsIDE5OTk%3D&WNEb25u=VGhvbWFzIFJlaWNo&xsIERvdWdsY=Ri1CKioq&MgTUQtODMgKE=TGVhdmluZyBydW53YXkgMjVMIGFmdGVyIHRvdWNoLWRvd24 %3D&YXMgTUQtODMgKERD=NjgyNzc%3D&NEb25uZWxs=MTk5OS0wMy0zMA%3D%3D&static=yes) as a peace offering :)

2nd May 2003, 03:27
There was a short bodied 727, in beige with a golden tail parked at DAL the other day...with tip sails :yuk: :yuk: . Looked like a flying pimp mobile. I'll try and get a picture - if my camera's strong enough.

2nd May 2003, 04:09
Caslance, I surrender over the last one! Great! :D

2nd May 2003, 04:10
Due credit I think, to those (http://mitglied.lycos.de/airlinerslides/retro/retro3/Scan177.jpg) who did it first (~1977) :ok:

2nd May 2003, 04:32
Caslance - I think your title should have been 'Eat my shorts' not PPRuNe Radar's. Get it? eh?

2nd May 2003, 04:42
God, as if the flying pig wasn't ugly enough!!!:yuk:

2nd May 2003, 05:26
Thanks AB - very nice

Now which part of "nicest" left the grey area:confused:

(I have to admit some of the submissions are outstandingly gopping)

2nd May 2003, 05:35
Its those kids and their 'king spray cans again!!!

2nd May 2003, 06:16

Think i found another that was attacked by the same brush here (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/329519/M/)

2nd May 2003, 06:37
Ah, you wanted NICE, Synthetic!

This is quite nice (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/342206/M/).

Whereas whoever was responsible for this (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/000012/L/) could probably only derive benefit from a good, sound thrashing!:yuk:

Serves the airlines right, If they turned their aircraft round quicker, the hooded "Gangsta" yoof wouldnt get the opportunity to spray graffiti all over their planes. You dont see Easy jet or Ryan air suffering the same fate...;)

2nd May 2003, 21:22
Er Simon - don't I remember seeing a Ryanair 737 in Sun (as in tabloid rag) colours? The aerosol boys muat be fast:)

2nd May 2003, 22:10
Genghis posted an absolute beaut on the private flying forum, and I shall now attempt to link you there.www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=87056

By Jove - succes at me first attempt. Guess I'm not as completely useless as I thought - Hurrah!:D

2nd May 2003, 22:34
Of course, if we're talking nice tails, there's always Frontier (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/338313/L/).:ok:

2nd May 2003, 22:39
I think Caslance just won with that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ansett used to have an aircraft with scenes from Waltzing Matilda painted on it. Beautifully done. I wish I had had a camera with me when I saw it, who knows what has happened to it now.

3rd May 2003, 01:42

Do you mean this (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/096837/L/)?:ok:

:D :D :D :ok: Caslance! you wonderful person! I only saw it the once and it looked even better in real life than on the photo. The artwork was really very detailed and I have never seen anything quite like it since then. Thank you.

3rd May 2003, 21:34
Is the idea of the paint jobs to improve aerodynamic efficiency by causing the ground to repel their ugliness? Has anyone ever done any tests on this?

3rd May 2003, 22:27
Yep they have 18greens, they're called helicopters. :)

3rd May 2003, 22:34

Good line, it comes under the "I wish I'd thought of that" category.

Anyway I agree with the original poster that the prettiest aircraft is the hunter but only in 2 seater area rule harmonised form (see below)

3rd May 2003, 23:14
Have to agree, hunters are mighty attractive. However, not sure about This (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/220662/M/)

3rd May 2003, 23:26
jstr, have to agree and its a single seater.

Anyway having mastered putting photos into posts how do you do the "this" link instead of the "www.fjdsvfjd.jknds./fdsw/fds/fds" link?

4th May 2003, 01:00
It's no Hawker Hunter, but a nice, clean Starfighter (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/232913/L/) has a certain je ne sais quoi.

Caslance, I know that pink is Flaps' favourite colour, but I think even she might find "Yike!!" just a little overpowering. :D

10th May 2003, 03:51
Pink the lady likes, pink (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/301850/M/) the lady gets!!!
