Dear top, few questions

How long have you been with CAL?
Any chances they will resume recruiting process, regardless of SARS developments?
Any chances for a high timer B767 skipper (12,000 plus hr)?
I submitted my resume 5 months ago. Still no answer.

Nice flights!

Dear Top,

Please clarify us: are you with CAL or KAL?

Acording to your another post, you're with KAL...sorry, wouldn't embarrass you.

Is it really true that Vietnam have no upper age limit on retiring pilots? Speaking to some vet's here @ KAL, I am told that there are more than a few capt's over 63 operating the A320/321 and B767

Dear Fullforward,

My apologies. I must have mistyped. I am indeed with KAL and not with CAL :O

Hi Sony and Van Pelt338.

I incorrectly made the mistake of posting CAL instead of KAL on this post. Sorry ! I am indeed with Korean Airlines and not China Airlines.
My only defense is that I was quite drunk when I made that post!! 6 vodka blue's and chinese Sake shot (1). Sorry again. If you guys or anyone else want info on KAL please feel free to email me.

negative

those pilots on the unpaid leave are not based on senority, true there is quite a few of junior ones, but not all.

there has been a good numbers of senior captains on the unpaid leave and some are hand picked by the management. this is a fact because i am a former CAL pilot ( local), and have my inside sources.

i am not sure what sort of benefits ilovelonghaul is receiving, but what he had post regarding CAL may not all be true.

cheers

Hi guys.. longhaul especially...
Any news on recruitment plans for China Air? Went to their website and still indicating that they need crew, just wondering have they recall all those who were told to go on leave or at least will they be doing so in the near future?

not true!

CAL do hired non-type rated pilot and offered them type ratings.

if you claimed to have a rating when you joined CAL, may i ask which fleet your on? if you are on the 744, A340 fleet, how did you get that rating? rating school or from a previous airline?

if it was from your previous company then you should be a very senior pilot at either NWA or UAL or you could be from atlas or polar. if that was the case, why did u leave?

surely, no one in US that operate A340.

CAL is not a very mature company, the management does not support the decision that the skipper made, you just have to hope that each flight is uneventful otherwise, you WILL end up in the chief pilots office.

anyone wants more accurate inside info can PM me.

Several of my former workmates were inducted in CAL late last year on the 744 and a couple onto the NG. ALL were not type rated and indeed had no "true" glass/FMC experience.

I guess I will just keep sending off the updates every 100hours and keep hoping..............
