Does anyone know if Gulf Air or Qatar Airlines hires on a contract basis, or do they require you to resign from your present employer?

To my knowledge Qatar air ways dont!

I've recently applied and have much more than the minimum requirements for the A320 Captain. Just wondering how long they usually wait to contact applicants and if it would do any good or harm to try and phone them.

We won't have too. The government doesn't due too good a job providing electricity in Ontario....it will go out all by itself!
