Bangladesh Airlines Incident

A friend of mine was on a Birman Bangladesh flight from LHR to Dhake on 22nd April. There was an emergency and the flight went into Vienna. Anyone here about the cause of the incident?

I am originally bengali.
I was reading a local newpaper made for the begali community and came across this extraordinary article.

It appears, what I gather and recall, the emergency oxygen masks came down with no prior notice to the passegers nor to the crew. (If I recall correctly, it was an A300). The cabin crew did nothing to assist the passeners regarding what to do next (I am not too suprised, as I know of there low reputation). Everythig seemed ok apart from the oxyge masks comming down untill eventually I think the airplane depreassurised slightly.
The newpaper claims, the cabin crews retired somewhere at the front of the cabin, some possibly in the cockpit (is there any space I wonder?), the passengers were left completely uninformed and unattended. They were not told what was happening, or what to do, in fact no crew were to be seen in sight.

After the aeroplane made a successful landing. The passengers were still looking for an explenation to what was going on, but no one bothered to give an answer. A passenger complained of some sort of a severe pain. They were all transfered to a hotel, he says, in the evening in the hotel, he saw the crew, including the pilots cheerful and having a laugh (which I guess irritated him much, as he was still in pain and had no i dea what to do, and was was given no attention).

The passenger later made an official complaint. Biman Bangladesh Airlines Refused to appoligese to anyone and confirmed that they stirctly follow the international regulations.

This is as far as I can recall.

U sure know who i am, dont u? :-)

I just want to point out some of your shortcomings. We dont have A300 in our fleet. The aircraft on scrutiny was a A310-300, and I dont think I agree when reporters say that pilots were laughing about the while incident on their way to the hotel; (i am doing journalism, by the way).

Also, go for a pell check before you post something on pprune. as you are talking to tons of experienced pilots and surely, you dont want to undermine the "Kiddos" image, do u? "-)

Bima has ots own problems and we dont expect the same kind of service we would from Emirates.
Last thing, Dont say "I am Bengali". ?Its like an American saying I am English. We are Bangladehis and not Bengalis.

Hope some Bangladeshi pilot comes to the rescue of this post and shed some light on the while issue.

Sorry for creating friction here chaps. All I wanted was to find our what happened for a friend of mine who is having difficulty claiming on their holiday insurance for an additional flight having been abandoned by the airline.

Pilot16 .... are you really a pilot?
I don't know anything about this accident, but I would like to make a point here:
During the safety demo Cabin Crew instruct pax on the use of the oxy masks. In the event of a decompression cabin crew are not immune to the lack of oxygen!
What did u expected? Cabin crew walking smiling along the isles invinting pax to pull and wear masks?

Its been well over a year I wrote that post! I bumped into this thread by chance after a search.
First of all, appologies for the bad spelling mistakes everyone, lol, nothing to do with me being bangladeshi (double checks the use of this word), just a bad day!

As for the 'kiddos' image, I was only 17 at the time of writing! Though I must admit, that should not be any excuse for the bad spellings.

I understand your point about using the word 'bangladeshi' and not 'bengali'. From now on, I will be trying to use the proper term.

Are you working for Biman?
