View Full Version : Class 1 renewal costs
There seems to be a great deal of variation in charges for a class 1 renewal from area to area.
Any pointers on the going rate, or cheap doctors in Scotlandshire?
I recently renewed my Class 1 at a cost of 80 quid - there must be cheaper!!!!!!

For JUST the 'General Medical' renewal it cost me £75 last week!!
Thanks, CAA. I only used to need a CAA Class II which was much cheaper and needed renewing less frequently!! But you decided to insist on a JAR Class 1 for BCPL/FIs rather than let us continue with our CAA Class IIs for this national licence.

last renewal cost me £95 http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/frown.gif
cheers
My last medical cost £150, but the company pays for it. I suppose it depends on the AME and whether he knows that you are the one paying. I do hope you get the money back from your employer.

Mine cost £110 - it's basically up to the doctor - the CAA only issues guidance on the prices.

The AME can take pity on you, at my last renewal which was a biggie it should have cost 150 pounds but I was charged significantly less. Even though the receipt showed the full amount ;)

I think I was done!
Had my first renewal a month or so ago (a year after initial, so only a small one). Was in there about 20 mins, and got charged £180!
Wasn't too bothered at the time, as I still had my class 1 for another year, but after thinking about it, I reckon I was robbed! Or is this normal?
