Are you sure you need a type rating for a Caravan?

With an FAA licence, you do not need a type rating to fly November registered caravans, because they weigh less than 12500 pounds. Flight Safety run a good caravan school though and it is worth doing the course because many operators will insist on it for insurance purposes.

Other countries will issue a type rating for a caravan - i.e. you have to attend a ground school, log some hours and be checked out by an instructor.

I have flown vans in the USA (no type rating required), but did hold a type rating in South Africa when I flew them there.

I did my C208 Training with Panam in Memphis, Tennessee. Its cheaper than FSI and much advanced simulator than that of FSI. Training course last 4 days with a checkride on the fifth. Easy course with great instructors. I am doing my recurrent in September 2003.
