Can anyone tell me if training can be given in one's group owned aircraft (Public C of A) towards the issue of a CPL and a FI rating? I know it is acceptable for the PPL and its add-on ratings but I don't know how it works with the more advanced training.. .. .Also what is the situation with NVQ tax relief? I did hear that it had been restricted to professional qualifications only, and at basic rate (no higher rate relief), although this was a few years ago. I presume it has gone altogether by now??? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" /> . .. .Rich

All training for professional licences and associated JAA ratings (i.e. everything except the PPL and IMC rating) must now be completed at an approved Flight Training Organisation (FTO) in an approved aircraft. If the group-owned aircraft meets the JAA approval requirements, you may find an approved FTO prepared to take it onto its books and provide training in it, but expect to pay a premium.. .. .Thanks to the selfishness of the vast majority of all previous claimants (bar three), there is no longer a NVQ in any flying skill and, therefore, no VTR.
