Mono to stereo

A while ago I upgraded to a pentium 2, but my old speakers only worked on one channel. I didn't worry me as they were old and I thought that they we stuffed. I have a new set and they still only work out of the one speaker. I have looked in control panel/system and it appears to be in stereo.
Any suggestions anyone???

I don't know how old your speakers are, but check the plug and make sure it has more than two bands on it.....If it has only two bands it is delivering mono...

Also, check the Balance control in windows....Perhaps Stereo is being delivered but your are supressing one side...
