Why do so many posters in this forum insist on quoting previous posts (particularly posts that appear immediately above their own)?

I imagine one or two people do it in a genuine attempt to elucidate their own point of view. Otherwise, it's just irritating, lazy and very schoolboyish.

But don't quote me on that :D

No probs, Stan. I speed read too, which is another reason I find superfluous quotations annoying.

I think quoting from a deleted thread probably falls into the elucidation category.
