Hi everyone,
Could any of you guys tell me what are the eyesight standards for the British Airways Medical?
I believe that the initial JAA Medical is -5 dioptres and then drops down to -8 there after, however it is said that the BA Medical is more intensive. If you know the standards please reply below...thanks.

Funny, I have exactly the same question albeit 2 years later!
I'm sure BA will want 6/6 corrected, but do they have an uncorrected minimum standard for new pilots?
I need corrective lenses to meet JAA Class 1 and basically want to know is it worth me filling in the massive BA App form!
Cheers.

BA don't give new Pilot's a company medical, as long as you have a Class I you will have no problem.

SE210,
Do you have a link to the new JAA astigmatism limit of 3.00? The UK CAA still specify 2.00 dioptres on their website - does anyone know if this is imminently about to change?
A very interested,

Hi V1; VR
In the old days it used to be +-3 dioptres.
Later JAA changed it to to +-2 dioptres.
The the Danish CAA aviation doctor fought a battle to change it back to +-3. She succeded.
I do not have any link to that, but I belive you can find it in an JAA FCL somewhere.
