So Robin Cook's resigned, the UN are pulling their people out as I write this, and it looks like the early hours of tomorrow morning will be when it all starts.

A friend of mine in Dubai says specific terrorist threats have been made against nightclubs in the Emirate and they're currently off-limits. Very scary.

I have a vested interest in what may happen as my parents are due to fly back from the Emirates via AUH with Lufthansa on Thursday. If it does happen in the next 24 hours, what's likely to happen to flights to and from the UAE and Oman?

Any other news from the Gulf?

Likely some reduced flight frequencies and likely reroute via Cairo instead of over Jordan and Syria en route DXB-FRA.:p

Heard that a GF crew were challenged by a non-too friendly American voice yesterday near BAH.

Having been challengd before it is a little worrying, we all remember the Iran A300 out of DXB.....

Anyone heard anything from the Gulf?
