Can any ex-military pilots recommend a flying school where they completed their Multi-Rating/CPL Skills Test/IR?

Quality of instruction/facilities/aircraft etc?

It seems an awful lot choose to fly at either Bristol or Exeter and do groundschool with Alex at Bristol.

Don't know why but it is a well beaten path for you chaps.

Broken Wings,

I have just completed my CPL/IR and did exactly as WWW suggested. Groundschool at Bristol with Alex Whittingham (passed all the theory 1st time, so they must be good!) and did my GFT and IR with Brian Marinden at Airways Flight Training at Exeter. Bristol are on 01275 474701 and AFT 01392 364216. AFT do get very booked up, so plan well in advance and 99% of the students are military!
Good luck.

If you want to travel north. Tayflite at Perth 01738 550003 are very good. Nice acft, good instruction and an on site examiner. I know of three people, ex-mil, helo all achieved first time passes. Also have a FNPT 2 if you need it. Best of luck

Unfortunately Exeter are chocka for the rest of the year so I'll have a look
at Bristol. It will be interesting to follow the progress of Pilot Assist. Thanks for your kind thoughts on my future refresher/training to ATPL.
