Now whenever I am working on my computer with regular monotony I have to shut it down and re-start because of the following message:

____________________________________________
"Explorer has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL.
Explorer will now close.

If you continue to experience problems try re-starting your
computer."
____________________________________________

Since I have no choice other than to re-start my computer anyway every time this happens (only for it too happen again a few minutes later this is hardly helpful advice!!!)

What is KERNEL32.DLL anyway???

Please can anybody help me with this extremely aggravating problem?

Thanks in advance,

Thunor

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Windows :yuk:

This is one of Micro$oft's marvellously descriptive errors, like 'this program has performed an illegal operation'. Meaning it could be just about anything.

Have a read of this (http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Troy/6883/kernel32.html) to see if anything looks appropriate.

Thanks, PaperTiger !

Unfortunately it is not exactly bedtime reading is it(?) so a bit taxing for my feeble brain at the moment but your help is genuinely appreciated - thank you!
