Anybody know if AIR AUSTRAL (reunion) have in fact bought 2 new B777-200's.
Rumour has it that they are going to operate one flight north and another south once a day between St Denis anf CDG/ORY. If this is true, I ask you this.

Are they going to employ new pilots?........perhaps a training Capt or two?

Anybody know anything????????

Yes indeed as eaglejet indicates command of the French language would be almost a definate requirement.

I have a friend who is a cabin crew member in Reunion, and she says it has been indicated that she could possibly be transferred to the 777. So I guess that means the process has started. For a period of time here on the adjacent island there has been rumours that the option was for either B777 or A340.

I should be seeing her in the next few days and will ask her to get info from the flight deck crew there as to the status of the order.
