Munich - Montreal: New route on Lufthansa timetable
As of 19 May 2003, daily connections between Munich and Canada

As of 19 May 2003, Lufthansa will serve the Canadian city of Montreal non-stop from Munich. The new service is the first Lufthansa connection exclusively from its second hub in Munich to Canada. An Airbus A340 will then depart daily at 15.45 hrs. for Montreal, the return flight will arrive in Munich at 10.00 hrs. each day. As a joint service, the flight can also be booked under the Air Canada flight number. Lufthansa and Air Canada already cooperate from Munich on flights to Toronto which are flown by Air Canada and are also bookable under Lufthansa flight number.
Montreal in the Province of Quebec is Canada's second largest city with 3.5 million inhabitants. Quebec itself registers the highest economic growth of all Canadian provinces: large companies in the pharmaceutical industry, telecommunications and the media business have their headquarters here. They include a particularly large number of companies with strong business relations to Germany and Europe.
In addition, the Province of Quebec is an extremely attractive destination for tourists. Lakes, waterfalls and forests invite visitors to take long walks or voyages of discovery. In winter, Quebec offers excellent skiing areas.
Next summer, Lufthansa will be flying to five cities in North America from its second hub and thus linking Munich 41 times a week with the American continent. In total, Lufthansa will serve 77 cities in 34 countries from Munich in summer 2003.

New Business Jet flights from Munich to Newark and from Düsseldorf to Chicago
Lufthansa expands flights with PrivatAir; Düsseldorf-Newark extended

A fast and comfortable transatlantic service: From 19 May 2003 Lufthansa is offering flights from Munich to Newark and from 9 June 2003 from Düsseldorf to Chicago with aircrafts of the Swiss charter company PrivatAir. The 48-seat Business Jets will then provide non-stop connections between the economic regions of southern Germany and North Rhine-Westphalia and major business centres in the United States. "The expansion of our unique and attractive Business Jet service is targeted mainly at business travellers. Besides providing a non-stop service, we offer ideal connections to the business centres on the East Coast of the United States and the Mid-West. Departure times for the Business Jet service from Munich and Düsseldorf have been coordinated with feeder flights to these airports," explained Wolfgang Mayrhuber, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Chief Executive Officer of Lufthansa Passenger Airlines. The flights can be booked under Lufthansa as well as under United Airlines flight numbers.
Six non-stop Business Jet flights a week will be operated from the Bavarian capital to New York's Newark Airport in New Jersey. Flight time is nine hours. The flight from Newark to Munich takes only seven hours and 45 minutes. The new connections to Newark supplement Lufthansa's scheduled services between Munich and New York. Passengers have a choice of 13 flights a week to New York, seven of them to John F. Kennedy Airport, six to Newark.
Flight time from Düsseldorf to Chicago is eight hours and 50 minutes, while the return flight is about one hour shorter. Chicago's O'Hare is the world's largest airport in terms of passenger numbers and flights depart from this modern hub to destinations worldwide.
Following the successful partnership between Lufthansa and PrivatAir on the Düsseldorf-Newark route, this contract is being extended for an unlimited period.
All three routes are served by Business Jets, which are owned by PrivatAir and operate in an all-business configuration. Lufthansa expects to attract an above-average proportion of business travellers on all three transatlantic routes. The partnership with PrivatAir will enable Lufthansa to offer passengers a superior and unmatched product.
