Severe delays & airport closed as there is only 1x runway
(thats Nor-folk Virginia)

What does a C-5 towbar look like??
I think that a C-5 has two nose legs doesn't it??

The C5 towbar looks remarkably like a yacht trailer, minus the hull supports. It's about 40 foot long, 15 foot wide, triangular in shape, and is quite simply enormous.
A serious overkill for any lesser sized a/c!

Presumably the towbar is carried in case that 10 minute power check at the threshold is unsuccesfull :rolleyes:
The 124 must be loved at busy airfields!!

Got the power checks down to between 2-4 mins now so as not to peeve ATC too much. Zap donks a lot more reliable these days..
Although much surprised how big C5 towbar is. 124 towbar single length approx 7m length and weighs approx 2500kg.

You werent the 1st democracy and you arent the largest one either, in fact with your last election of GWB some would argue that you are not much of a democracy at all.
Last I heard the Dream was/is the 'largest' airplane and Russia is in the free world.......then we can argue largest in terms of length, weight or wingspan??

PS: Great to see the General supporting the pilots decision to stop (esp considering they must have known they'd close the airport down for a while). About time we saw the 'big cheeses' supporting the guys/gals at the coal face.
