Hi, i was just wondering if you can wear soft contact lenses to your initial class one medical? I was told that if you wore hard contacts, they had to be removed 72 hours prior to the medical. Anyone know the situation with soft contacts as i would prefer to wear them to the medical.
Many Thanks
Dan

Who told you that?

Hard contacts can affect the shape of the cornea for some time after wearing them. Soft ones dont as far as I know.

Well, when i spoke to the lady on the phone, she said it was ok to wear soft contacts to the medical. However, on the sheet i received about the medical, it said that if you wear contacts, they must be removed 72 hours prior to the medical, without stating hard or soft.
Did you wear contacts to your medical??

I've got a JAA class I and wore my (soft) contacts to the initial without any problems (this was in The Netherlands). You will have to take them out at some point but as long as you've got all your tools (and your spare glasses) with you it will be allright.
