Daily Mail reports that Geof Hoon fell asleep whilst in a meeting with 30 RAF officers in the Gulf.

Couldn't possibly be true, could it?

It depends who the officers were.

I and others have been known to doze off when being addressed by the brass;)

He'd hardly be the first or last to do this when faced with 30-1 odds!

I seem to recall the famous somnolent Fred Mulley pic shows him surrounded by very senior RAF officers. Might there be a connection here?

might be wrong (it was a long time ago), but wasn't Auntie Betty sat close by aswell?

Yep, the photo (taken by Ron Bell in 1978) showed good old Fred asleep, next to Auntie Betty, at a Royal Fly Past – Finningley springs to mind, but can’t be sure. Can find the story, but not the photo.

'Sleepy Fred' nodded off after an excellent lunch at the 1977 Queen's Silver Jubilee at RAF Finningley. Seemingly oblivious of the Harrier hovering in front of HM.....

Anyone know if the dias is still around with the small brass plaque where his seat was that said 'Fred slept here' or somthing similar.
