A Canadian delegation informed Public Works and Transport Minister Najib Mikati Wednesday that a Canadian airline company is expected to start three flights a week to Lebanon.
According to a ministry statement, the visiting delegation included international affairs director Yves Defresne and the director of cooperation development, Roula Zaarour.
Air Canada is scheduled to begin flights from June, which has been officially approved by the Beirut International Airport (BIA). Sources said BIA was waiting for the final official decision on whether there would be direct flights between Montreal and Beirut. The decision is expected to be taken within two weeks.
Mikati expressed satisfaction with the decision and the ministry’s readiness to provide the necessary facilities within the framework of Lebanon’s “open skies” policy.

anyone else heard or read about this, who might this airline be, whether its Air Canada or Air Transat, Skyservice, etc...

Why could they not put 330/340 in to BEY. It certainly goes to prove that Canadians do have a sense of humour after all ?
